Employing well trained, experienced and motivated personnel on-board and on-shore. Properly maintain and monitor ship’s computerized planned maintenance system (PMS). Ensuring effective spare parts inventory control and proper record keeping of maintenance history in PMS. Regular detailed inspection of ships by the Superintendent and other office staff.

Periodic performance monitoring of all machinery, equipment and systems. Timely completion of maintenance routines as per PMS and close monitoring from office. Special focus on maintenance of all life-saving and fire-fighting equipment ( LSA/FFA ).

Maintain ships to high cosmetic standards.

NSM considers shipboard internal and external audit a very important tool for improvement of ship and office systems & procedures. The Company follows dynamic style of management with stringent KPI targets. NSM has highly qualified in-house nautical and engineer auditors (Ex Master & Chief Engineer) who frequent the ships on a regular basis.  NSM employs experienced pre-vetting trainers for achieving good Oil Major performance.  NSM regularly shares audit findings across the fleet and various office departments. Audits are based on fully customized effective tools – for efficient monitoring, implementation and follow up.



NSM  places profound emphasis on training of on-board compliment as well as for office staff.

On-board staff training: The training of on-board staff is encouraged and periodically reviewed based on gap analysis.

NSM regularly monitors the benefits of imparted trainings and modifies training modules as required.

NSM promotes its personnel to undergo value added courses which are conducted at state of the art training centres at Anglo Eastern Training Centre , based at Mumbai.

On-Job Training: NSM  also engages third party trainers to sail with vessel for “On-Job Training” (OJT).

Office staff training:  Shore staff is encouraged to participate in various training programs covering latest industry needs and developments, technical refreshers , commercial, personal development and skills enhancement.

Superintendents and other personnel in the technical department undergo commercial courses including Charter Party clauses, Marine Insurance etc. to best protect stakeholders interests.

In addition, it considers junior staff mentoring by the senior colleagues a very important aspect for knowledge enhancement and development.



Assists in arranging emergency repairs and dock spaces as required.

Has highly experienced European and Indian site supervision teams with global experience.

Is fully qualified to undertake plan & design approval for new buildings.

Is qualified to undertake ballast water system installation feasibility study and project implementation.

NSM  can assist in commercial contract negotiation with the shipyard for new buildings and repairs including review of specifications.

Renders advise on selection of new building equipment and best possible guarantee clauses.

Is capable of new-building full project management including tank coating repairs /  upgrade.

Can effectively liaise with Owners, Shipyards, Classification societies and Flag state for new building projects as required.
